How to be a Pilgrim.

A pilgrimage is not a holiday. The holidaymaker wishes to return from his holiday well rested and full of beans. The pilgrim wishes to return a different person.

Here are some of my planned pilgrimages.

I wish to return to Oxford so that I can experience the atmosphere in the Bodleian library and other places. I suspect I will experience a sense of energy, focus and calm that is not found elsewhere.

I will return to Birmingham to see the jewelry quarter, the pen museumThink Tank and many other places. I will experiment in the art of cheap hotel booking and try the singles bars if I feel brave. Birmingham girls are famous for their outgoing nature.

I will go to York, to see an authentic medieval town- although one that has been prettied up a great deal.
I will also see Nottingham for many of the same reasons.
